I was really amazed by this exercise as it had never occurred
to me that a research could be done in this way. The most fascinating thing is
that it leads me into divergent thinking and helps me generate lots of creative
ideas as well as possible solutions to my research question - What caused the
change in copyright compliance among ESL teachers. And I realized what I have
been doing is excessive narrowing down, which has somewhat led me into a dead
end, as I was too confined by the question itself. When I was drawing my daisy,
I was literally imaging myself strolling around in an intellectual cocktail
party and listening to various smart scholastic conversations, and it felt so
good when I found there could have been so many ways of sliding in. It also
made me did another round of literature review, which I used to think as
boring, but now I find it rather exciting.
